![]() ![]() I'm not racer, I just like to drive, shift guears and have good music. The car is used by my wife and I as representative vehicule for my movie theater. Since the vehicule has a low millage, they might do something, as long as I have a good presentation file. ![]() They told me to write and call Mercedes Canda to explain the situation. I don't know what is the cause, and what he meant exactly, but that the story of yesterday. One of the mechanic said that if the engine is really a 1.8 (black cover), then the pistons are simply burned. They said that all waranty are over and they cannot do much to help me, even if they were very professional and friendly. I called the Mercedes dealer and talked about the situation. Therefore, I was thinking to do a swap with an 2.3 engine (2002). Let me know what that pressure reading is. If you still just have 10-12psi, then you are low on refrigerant and the ACC module might refuse to engage the compressor due to low pressure. I have been long enought to school to know that! But after this, I don't feel confortable to simply replace the engine and be wared that it is going to happen to me again. Use the pressure gauge on your recharge kit to check it with the engine off. I'm willing to change it, but I'm not going to pay an engine that worth the entire car. They both told me that I should replace the engine, but this engine is very rare. So, I went to the engine specialist and his diagnostic was identical. Just in case, this mecanic is a close friend to my business partner who is car collectionner. So, he did the diagnostic and told me that I should take it to a mercedes engine specialist since it was going to be cheaper to go there then if it was doing to do it. I took it to my germain mecanic since I know that if I want to get a real answer, that the way to do it. In fact, only a little bit in one cylinder.Ĭoncerning the engine, I have nothing to say. When I meant dead, I mean that the compression test for the 4 cylinders where almost none. ![]()
